It is hard to believe that it is already October and we are well into our first quarter of the new school year!  We are off to a fantastic start and I wanted to thank everyone for their continued support!

This year is going to bring about many new and exciting experiences for us all. Our teachers are implementing a curriculum that is focused on creating a learning environment where “All” truly means “All.”  Every student has the opportunity for re-teaching or extension of skills during any given day.  This individualized learning environment is offering students the opportunity to be appropriately challenged in each lesson, allowing for maximum growth.  Our incredible teachers are working tirelessly to deliver a cohesive and adaptive learning environment for all their students. In alignment with our Superintendent’s Vision, we are focused on “Raising the bar, losing the gaps, and preparing for our future.”

Our theme for the school year is SWAG, Students with Academic Goals. Your children made a goal for the month of September. If they reach that goal, they will earn SWAG Dollars to shop that the Panda SWAG Store. Please ask you child if they reached their goal. You may also get a phone call home about your child’s SWAG!

We are continuing to utilize Class Dojo as our school-wide behavior system. It is a great way to receive notices on your child’s behavior, communicate with the teacher, and receive updates on events that are happening at school. We currently have 560 parents that are signed up for Dojo!! That’s amazing!  If you have not already signed up, please contact your child’s teacher. I will be sharing important information through Class Dojo all year!

Essex Elementary will continue to be a Title I Targeted Assistance School. We will be receiving federal money to support selected students this year.  More information will be shared in the future as we learn about our program.

As parents, you can support your children by joining and becoming an active member of our school PTA.  Also, work closely with your child(ren)’s teachers through phone calls, conferences, and Class Dojo to ensure your child is putting their best foot forward while at school.  Also, take some time to celebrate any school related successes! You can use class dojo on your computer by going to the ClassDojo Website or you can download the app on your phone.

Each day, I see students working hard and hear about great things kids are doing in their classes. I am truly a Proud Principal! Thank you for your continued support!

Ms. Wagner
