pdates from your Proud Principal…

First, I wanted to thank you for a wonderful month of November! It was amazing to see so many family members in our building during American Education Week. We had over 350 visitors in our classrooms! I am thrilled that you were able to see the wonderful instruction that is happening at Essex. I also want to thank our fabulous PTA for all of their support and hard work.

In December, we have many exciting activities for our students and families. We have the Holiday Musical, Movie Night, Holiday Penguin Shop, and some additional holiday fun. I thank you for all of your support and hope to see you at these events.

Our virtue for the second quarter is Self-Control. Please talk with your child at home about the importance of self-control. Students that demonstrate this virtue will earn Dojo Points and may be eligible for an award.

We are continuing to utilize Class Dojo as our school-wide behavior system. It is a great way to receive notices on your child’s behavior, communicate with the teacher, and receive updates on events that are happening at school. We currently have 584 parents that are signed up for Dojo!! That’s amazing!  If you have not already signed up, please contact your child’s teacher. I will be sharing important information through Class Dojo all year!

Our theme for the school year is SWAG, Students with Academic Goals. Your children made a goal for the month of October. Please ask you child if they reached their goal. You may also get a phone call home about your child’s SWAG!

We look forward to another great month and I want to express how thankful I am for our incredible teaching staff, our hardworking students, and our parents and families for their engagement and support of our school.

I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season!

Ms. Wagner
